Courtesy Coaches
Started in Failsworth in 1972 by Jean and Eric Brook, son Mark Brook purchased the company in 2000 and since then has made many more acquisitions to make Yelloway what it is today; evolving and modern yet retaining the values of a bygone era.
Hebble Motor Services
Started in 1924 by haulier brothers Oliver and Charles Holdsworth. They had just sold a previous motorbus business, the Bilton Motor Company, to the Harrogate Road Car Company.
1972
Woodward Coaches
Started in 1968 by John Woodward. He bought a 45-seat coach that he parked on the drive of his house and used to transport factory workers and school children in and around Glossop. In 1977, he bought Royal Red Coaches and its excursion programme. On retirement in 2007, John sold his business to Yelloway.
Hartshead Travel
Jim and Dot Pemberton operated mini-coaches in the Tameside area, then took over the long-established Tommy Williams Coaches on Tommy’s retirement.
1986
Rossendale Coachways
Set up in 1986 as a spin-off from council-owned Rossendale Transport. It then bought the long-established, Rochdale based Ellen Smith Tours from the Smith family.
Chariot Coaches
A family-run business set up in 1988, specialising in luxury coaches for small to medium-sized groups.
B&S Coaches
Established in the 1960’s by husband and wife team, Lawrence and Margaret Boulton and a few years later the happy arrival of Steven was set to continue in his parent’s footsteps. We are very happy Steven joined Yelloway after the acquisition.
Yelloway Mobile Museum
Many of the earlier Yelloway vehicles have historic value, and even the former Yelloway office at Weir Street in Rochdale is now a listed building. To preserve some of the flavour of coach transport from a bygone era, Yelloway now has mobile museum that generates interest and nostalgia wherever it goes.
