Lucky Escape on M60?
We are saddened to report that one of our coaches had the windscreen smashed by vandals throwing bricks from the M60 over bridge on Tuesday 25th June 2019 at around 6pm.
We are appealing for witnesses to the incident to please contact the North West Motorway Police. Our own CCTV from the vehicle has been handed to the Police for further investigation.
The Manchester Evening News reported that passengers on another coach and two HGV drivers had a lucky escape.
“It could’ve turned quite nasty”
A coach passenger was sprayed with glass after yobs on an M60 motorway bridge hurled bricks at passing traffic.
The thugs smashed the screens of two HGVs during the incident at junction 10, clockwise.
Officers were called to the scene at 6pm on Tuesday.
No one was injured, police said.
A spokesman for North West Motorway Police said: “A number of vehicles were involved. One of the passengers was showered in glass.
“It was an upsetting situation for the people involved. We were lucky. It could’ve been quite nasty.
“We are saying to parents, do you know where your children are? It’s about educating them. It’s not the best thing to be doing.”
Police posted about the incident on Twitter on Wednesday morning. North West Motorway Police tweeted: “Saddened to have to post this.
